  1. Did he just dab… well at that time it was not yet a thing obviously but looking at it now, this might be the cringiest kata to preform

  2. Excellent video! Thaink you! Just keep in mind to hold 90 degrees the foot angle in kokutsu, and in kosa dachi keep both foot facing forward to prevent long term knee injuries… My sensei keeps corecting me all the time about it LOL

  3. I like your style, don't get me wrong, but you gotta admit that it is a very personal interpretation of the kata… You have adopted a "poetic license" here and in other katas if one compares your movements with Kanazawa's. Or also Kanazawa's style has evolved over the course of the last 15 years and you are correctly reflecting all the changes? I am not trying to be a smart aleck…  thanks

  4. DUDE!  I was going to send you a message just over a week ago asking if you were going to do a commentary on Bassai Sho.  I started learning it on a day I stayed home from work due to a nasty snow day…thanks for the video!

  5. I have had a lot of requests for a demo and commentary video of Bassai-sho.  Here it is.  This is also the 100th video posted on the Shotokan Sensei YouTube channel!

  6. Glad to see your still making videos. I just got my black belt in shotokan about four months ago and your videos help me alot with my training
